The GLORY Series

The Glory Series explores ideas of identity, culture and individualism through pastel portraiture by depicting artists I have met through the years.  I am inspired by each person and their incredible potential to create within their own lives, so I choose to symbolize their portraits with imagery, materials, and intricate patterns cut directly into the paper that all work together to emphasize my ideas of preciousness.  Within this process, I chalk, paper and gold leaf to carefully construct a likeness of the subject, reinforcing the uniqueness of each individual.
